About ERMI

We are a trader and exporter. Not a broker.

ERMI General Trading PLC buys agricultural commodities directly at origin in Ethiopia, takes ownership of every lot, and exports under its own name to buyers across the world.

Our story

Built at the farm gate, scaled to the world.

ERMI stands for Ethiopian Resources & Market International. The name keeps us rooted in our origin and states our global scope.

ERMI was founded in Addis Ababa to close the gap between Ethiopia's smallholder farmers and the international buyers who rely on their harvests. Too often, value and accountability were lost in long chains of intermediaries.

We chose a different model: buy directly, own the product, and stand behind it. Our teams work with cooperatives and farm clusters across Ethiopia's oilseed and pulse belts, aggregate and clean the crop in our network, and move it by road and rail to the Port of Djibouti.

Today we trade more than 10,000 metric tonnes a year of soybeans, sesame, niger seed, pulses, hibiscus and spices — every container traceable to its origin.

Mission

To connect Ethiopian farmers with global buyers through direct, transparent trade — paying fair prices at origin and delivering consistent, export-grade quality at destination.

Vision

To be East Africa's most trusted agricultural exporter — the first call for importers seeking traceable Ethiopian oilseeds, pulses and spices.
